Little red wagon by the name of Mighty

So my class and I were given a set of poetic devices we were assigned to use in a poem. The devices were: Metaphor, personification, alliteration, oxymoron, simile, abstract noun, onomatopoeia, assonance, proper noun, and imagery. Here is the poem I stuffed those devices into.

Little red wagon

By the name of Mighty

Begins the trek from summit to sea.

Wheels turn tenitively

Gears squeak uneasily

Inching her way to the edge of the cliff.

Like a meek snail, taking its time

One wheel

Two wheels

And here we go.

Over the brink

Goodbye to the brim

Racing down the hill with no turning back.

Free fall for forever

Until a sudden smack!

Landings were never her strong point

Though she continues without hesitation

her pace quickens,

hurries, hasten.

Destination nearly there

Just

Within

Reach.

Illusive

The everlasting pain of yesterday,

The continuous pain of today,

The dread for the pain of tomorrow,

(unfinished)

Dawn

Sorry for not posting in… 3 months. Hehe? Here’s a post for y’all inspired by Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

Forbidden knowledge upon scarlet horizon
Foreboding, my one hardship.

To the dawn of day
And the of darkest night
Equal to my success
Is my failure.

I cannot change
I must accept
What god has giveth
Can be taken back

Letting it be so

Hearts are broken and promises made.

Love is lost and enemies gained,

Forgotten.

To be or not to be,

To love or not to love,

To let yourself be worth anything to another.

To anyone.

I Wasn’t Worth Much

I wasn’t worth

Much, of anything but

Still, the need was greatened by others’

Lies, I used to try to

Persuade others, Tell them I wasn’t

That. I wasn’t an egotist anymore, I wasn’t at all following

The way, The way one person thought of me. I used to make them think of the meaning of

They. Though everyone saw it as they think others

Should, the way they used to

See me. They means me, they means what I

Was. A loud and annoying girl. I pretended it was

Nothing.

No longer needed,

No longer wanted.

Alone.

Glittering Fear

A world without a shining face,

To grace the world in awe,

Reflects the waste upon our earth,

Against her gorgeous beauty.

Her tender lips,

And flowing hair,

Through fleeting eyes.

Be

Be.

Be was need be,

What was needed to be,

Was to be.

Found Word Poem: Edited Social-Network “Status”

To love or to hate,

To hold on or let go,

To forget or to remember,

To cherish or not.

What’s wrong and what’s right?

Something no one can tell you.

Something your heart knows best,

But my heart is not answering.

My heart is deep down,

Hidden somewhere I don’t know,

And may never know.

Without the answer,

I don’t know how much longer I have.

Sisyphus

The chains that hold me back are digging into my wrists,

Leaving a deep scarlet-red gash born from the blood,

Sweat,

And tears of this painful and torturous road.

The road I have been leading throughout space and time.

These chains have been dragging me the length of the way,

Forcing the gashes to draw deeper into my skin,

Making me beg for mercy,

Making me beg for death,

Anything other than to watch this boulder roll down again,

And again.
